Stop and Smell the Rosé with Villa CarlottaIt’s summertime in Los Angeles, which is the perfect time to place your lips on a cold glass of refreshing rosé and let the crisp, fruity bubbles consume your palette. We compiled a stunning list of our favorite places to get rosé in Los Angeles during your stay at Villa Carlotta:

Flamingo Estate

Get Flamingo Estate’s elegant Pink Moon rosé delivered right to your Villa Carlotta residence for a delightful addition to your evening. This rosé is rich with notes of ripe summer peaches, dark cherries and cool, wet nectar. The salt-licked grapes are grown under the moonlight of San Luis Obispo, then hand-picked and gently pressed to extract the perfect blend of Tempranillo, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Savor the rosé on its own or enjoy it with a fresh, nourishing meal made with ingredients from Flamingo Estate’s Friday Farm Box.

Lolo Wine Bar + Restaurant

For the perfect date night, head over to Lolo and indulge in heavenly pasta while delighting in your choice of rosé. Go local with Oest’s ‘Open Fields’ rosé made in the neighboring Sierra Foothills or try the international option of Ad Vinum’s ‘Levat’ from Beaujolais, France.

V Wine Room

For a night of rosé tasting, visit V Wine Room in West Hollywood. Inspired by the tasting rooms and wine bars of Europe, NYC and California wine country, V Wine Room offers an extensive list of wines by-the-glass including a selection of eight rosés from around the world. With local California rosés to those from France, Portugal and Mexico, you’re guaranteed a truly global experience. They offer wine flights and a wine education in a relaxed atmosphere ideal for a night spent with friends or family.

With summer in full swing and the world reopening, we’re all feeling a bout of cabin fever. What better way to enjoy the fruits of a Southern California summer than a day trip to one of Villa Carlotta’s gorgeous neighboring cities! There’s a vast array of possibilities in our region for an entertaining way to spend a day. Our favorite? Santa Barbara!

GETTING THERE | Hop in your car and take a drive up the 101, or take a look at the train schedule for an easy day-trip up the Santa Barbara coastline. Just north of downtown, LA’s Union Station offers travelers an alternative transportation option, with trains that leave periodically throughout the day. Ticket prices for the scenic trip north floating around $30. If the train isn’t your speed, hop in the car and cue up your favorite road trip mix for a drive up the Pacific Coast Highway. Why not as speedy as taking the 101, the PCH provides a more scenic route, peppered with lovely spots to stop along the way such as the Getty Villa, Malibu and Carpinteria.

THE FUNK ZONE | Downtown Santa Barbara, a.k.a “The Funk Zone” is the main drag on State Street, stretching a few blocks between the ocean and Highway 101. Conveniently adjacent to the Amtrak Train Station, the Funk Zone district speaks to Santa Barbara’s contemporary side, offering a variety of boutique tasting rooms, cafes, galleries and shops for a charming stroll in Santa Barbara proper.

URBAN WINE TRAIL | Reserve tickets of the Urban Wine Trail experience, spanning six neighborhoods including the Funk Zone, Presidio, Midtown, La Arcada, Goleta and Summerland. With 24 wineries to experience, we understand if you can’t make it to all of them. If we had to choose, we’d send you over to Deep Sea Wine to take in 360-degree views of the Pacific Ocean, Channel Islands and Riviera.

BEACHES | What’s a trip to Santa Barbara without some much-needed beach time? There are plenty of gorgeous beach options we love, like Butterfly Beach, East Beach and Arroyo Beach. Bring a beach blanket and some snacks for some sea-sprayed down time in this charming corner of the SoCal coast.

BOTANIC GARDEN | Check out 10 different communities of California-native plants at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden! Open every day from 10am-6pm, the garden offers a Japanese tea shop and garden-style gift shop. Tickets are just $16 for adults and $8 for children.

HISTORY | Santa Barbara is rich in history. Plan to take self-guided interior and exterior tours of the Santa Barbara Courthouse, built in 1939 and still in operation today. Pop into the Santa Barbara Old Mission House and Park, also known as the “Queen of the Missions,” for a dose of California history. We also recommend visiting some exhibits at Santa Barbara’s Museum of Natural History, located on the historic Stearns Wharf.

To top off your day of adventures, travel back to Villa Carlotta and unwind with some of our perks. Take a dip in our heated saltwater pool or pop open one of your new bottles of Santa Barbara wine and enjoy some rooftop views.

One day not enough? There are tons of Airbnb’s and hotels in the area that are perfect to extend your day-trip into a weekend staycation. We love being neighbors with special places like Santa Barbara. We can’t wait to hear the stories you bring back with you.
